Bryce Dallas Howard is as cute as ever in the new kate spade Fall Campaign

This weekend I saw Bryce in the movie The Help.  She was amazing as Hilly the very snotty/prejudice Jr. League President.  These new images for kate spade new york look completely different than the Bryce from The Help.  Here her complexion is flawless and hair is Pinkish red compared to the movie where she had freckles and hair that was a lighter shade of red. This new look is a great contrast to the pink and black of the fall clothing from ksny!  These new images were photographed in New York by Ellen von Unwerth and make up was done by Gucci Westman.

Sales galore! kate spade sample sale and sale at Neiman's

Sales galore right now!  katespade.com is having their sample sale and neimanmarcus.com is having a sale too!  Prices are so low that some items are under $100!  Neiman's has things from past seasons for next to nothing so if you missed something and it is no longer available, check out their sale section.  They even have things from Fall 2009 still available.  I haven't purchased anything yet but am thinking about it.  I really want to save $$$ for an ipad.  I am also designing a fall wardrobe for myself so I am only buying things to go with the things I am sewing.  I need things in brown, green, cream and red. It is hard to stay disciplined with all the good deals out there right now!

kate spade opens shops in the UK!

Kate spade jumps the pond and has opened a shop in Covent Garden and will soon open another in Sloane Square!  Now I can finally visit London.  I would never go because I couldn't get any kate spade there!  Another UK designer that I adore is Orla Kiely.  Check out her fall/winter collection lookbook it is smashing!  Her colors are unique and not as vivid as kate spade but she has the classic girly vibe.

Today I wore: kate spade ny beeline Cardigan and a floral dress from SOHO apparel

Today I was in a floral mood!  I guess I just want it to be summer a little longer.   I topped my dress with the kate spade beeline cardigan with the little bee made of beads on the shoulder.  The colors worked great together and then I added a black petticoat underneath.  It doesn't show well in the photo but I took several and none of them would do it justice.  I love wearing the crinoline!  It makes me feel so girly and sweet. This dress was short enough that it peeked out at the bottom. Saturday I wore it with another dress but it was too long to show.  It still made the dress look better than by itself. I had the lady marmalade ring on and carried the basket purse that has been sitting in my closet all summer.

You can't tell as much in the photo but, it was very "swingy" when I walked!  This dress is just a black and hot pink swirl pattern with a black stripe band along the bottom.  I added the belt to add dimension and show my waist in contrast to the full skirt.  I is a different look for me and I am going to do more like this.  The only kate spade here is my basket purse. The family was visiting my mom-in-law for the day.  I took the picture at her house.  Wow, she made some yummy Italian cream cake!!!!

Forever 21 has kate spade "inspired" typewriter necklace for $3.80

I picked up these little treats while school shopping with my daughter today.  I put them on instagram and twitter but for those of you who don't follow me there, I just thought I would put them here on the blog.  The typewriter is amazing and the phone is just so cute with its cream enamel over gold.  There is also a phone with black enamel over silver but I didn't get that one.  I haven't checked if they are online but you might want to comment if you find them.  They are totally worth the $3.80 and more! lol!

New Kate Spade Esther Polka Dot Skirt

Esther Polka Dot skirt $455

This Esther Polka Dot skirt at Neiman Marcus is just to die for! I love the sewn down pleats all around and the fitted waist.  The fabric is Viscose/Polyester/Cotton.  No silk this time.  The dots look like they were painted on the fabric.  That is so lovely.  I think the price seems high at $455 for no silk but this skirt will take you really far this fall so I think it is worth it!  The colors are very flexible and will work with my Clyde Typewriter bag.  Maybe this will be my Birthday Skirt!

Holy Capes Batman! @katespadeny plaid cape is awesome!

plaid Sophie cape $595

We have a joke at our house from The Incredibles  "No Capes!"  This would definitely be an exception to that rule!  I love this kate spade Sophie cape.  I wonder what the lining is made of.  If you have seen this in person, let me know what is inside!  All the description says is faille lining.  I designed a cape for my fall collection that is a little shorter than this one and lined it in scottie dog lining.  It is fun because you can see the lining when you move because of the arm slits.  I will put a picture up later this week.  I would love a plaid cape to wear with jeans in the fall.  This is a little like Burberry plaid.  Deborah Lloyd used to work for Burberry before Banana Republic.   Speaking of Banana, have you seen the new Mad Men Collection!!!! To Die For!!!

My Daughter Madeline's Fine Arts Performance

We are spending the week in Pheonix Arizona while my daughter Madeline competes in a National Fine Arts Competition.  I haven't posted anything yet on the blog about it but if you follow me on twitter, you know that I have tweeted extensively about our trip.  I have a second this morning at the hotel computer "cafe" so I thought I would let you watch Madeline sing her song.  I thought she did great! She is considering a future in music but not sure. At 14, is seems like something out of reach but, as her mother, I know she can do it!  I just love the dress she chose to wear for the performance.  It is one of her XXI(forever 21) finds.  I wish I could wear them, they are so cheap and cute! 

Today we are going to visit the kate spade shop in Scottsdale to see some of the new products in person.  I will take some pics and let you know the scoop!  I will tweet some from the shop too!  I just love Instagram so if you have an iphone, you should get the app for sure!  It is so much fun!  I ususally use Instagram for my tweet pictures.  I love seeing everyone's photos.  Yesterday we went to the Grand Canyon and I got some really great pictures of the beauty!
