kate spade brides beware!!!! New Wedding Belles and Whistles Apparel to tempt you.

Cameo Dress $698

Louella Ball skirt $598
It is that time of year again and wedding bells are beginning to ring!  kate spade new york does a great job of helping brides look their best.  I love the new Cameo dress and especially the Louella Ball skirt in the yellow rose print.  I would totally wear this skirt if I were a bride or even a bridesmaid.   I may even have to purchase one for myself to wear to a special event.  The Cameo dress is so lovely.  It has such a vintage look but is shorter and more flirty.

I am making Katie and Hartley skirts for wedding parties right now so I know all about this wedding thing.  It is really hard to find a look that expresses who you are and then put it on 6 of your friends!  Also, these friends look nothing like you and have unusual body types.  They also don't want to be stuck with something ugly that they can't wear again.  For casual summer weddings, especially in the South, I am finding that girls are opting for the striped Katie skirt for their bridesmaids.
The green and white stripe seems to be a favorite this year!
Picture your girls all lined up in stripes!  It is just too cute!  For more formal weddings there is the Hartley Ball skirt. It is different than the kate spade Louella ball skirt because it has three pleats in the front and three in the back.
Hartley Ball skirt in black and white stripe
This skirt can be made in any of my Sandee Royalty fabrics.  I even like the idea of the Bubble Gum pink in a ball skirt!  Who can have too much pink?  What about a stripes of bubble gum pink and vanilla?  The combinations are endless... my next idea is red or navy gingham.  I think I would like a navy gingham ball skirt to wear with a crisp white shirt.  It seems so classic.

remember to live colorfully!

kate spade outlet shopping trip results

I visited the Houston kate spade outlet on Saturday and had a marvelous time!  I really enjoy the girls who work there.  They are so patient and really good at selling things...or maybe I am good at buying.  I picked up two skirts using a coupon and VIP promotion ending up with 30%, then 20% then 10% and another 10% off!  I must say it was a little bit of a steal!  I wish I had gotten more but I have just organized my closet and am trying to keep the "-aholic" part of my personality under control.

I purchased some pretty wooden hangers and organized and deleted some items to end up with a closet full of my favorites!  Now I can shop my closet because I like everything in it!

Got the  Holly skirt in Mercury and the Holly skirt in Black silk.  I know they look like something I would sew but the fabrics are really special.  They also look a lot alike in the photo but really are quite different.

the black is a silk dupoini - kind of a nubby silk with a pretty sheen

the mercury is also a black/graphite color but with metallic threads and a check pattern
I was able to get these kate spade skirts for under $40 each with all the sale discounts (retail $298)!  I also picked up two different packs of the artist prints from the year of color for $5 each!!!!  It was, over all, a great rainy day shopping trip.  I also saw that the J Crew outlet has their Jackie Cardigan for 40% off and so many new spring colors.  I am thinking of snagging about three of those in the near future.

Off to sew some skirts to fill all the orders I have been getting.  I am almost caught up.  Maybe by the end of the week if I work extra hard.  I would love to have a chance to sew the navy and white gingham dress I have planned... you are going to love it!  I am thinking of putting yellow ric-rac in the seams of the bodice and maybe on the skirt as trim.  I am going for the 50's housewife look.

Live Colorfully!

Valentine's Day outfit: Cha Cha Cha sweater from kate spade and red and white stripe Hartley skirt

I cha cha cha-ed on Valentine's Day!
I took a cue from Color Me Courtney and paired my Cha Cha Cha sweater for kate spade with a striped skirt.  I didn't want to copy exactly (because she looked so much cuter in hers...) so I wore my smaller red and white stripe Hartley skirt .  It is part of my summer skirt collection and not available yet on sandeeroyalty.com but you get a sneak peek.  I went shopping and eating all around Houston with my hubby Mark.  He let me dress him up for Valentine's day too!  We got lots of sweet compliments as we cruised the shops at City Centre and dined at Mia Bella and Ikea (gotta love those meatballs). The manager at Mia Bella even too our picture for the celebrity wall! I need to go out with Mark more often.  It is so much fun!

here we are before we left for a day of Valentine fun.
I visited ColorMeCourtney just now and saw that Courtney was wearing this same sweater for her Valentine's day outfit!  Great minds think alike.  Click here to see her pic- pink hair and all.

Have a super wonderful day today!

I really love this black and white print!  I have tons of black and white in my home already so a wall of Florence Broadhurst wallpaper would be a nice addition.  I have to decide if it is worth the $350 for a roll of it...
I am really interested in the skirt of the same print!!! You know I can't say no to a good skirt.

outfit today: Ruby Embellished Hartley skirt, cardi and Coach bow flats

This morning I got up and was waiting outside Target before it opened to snag some good Jason Wu for Target stuff!  I decided to wear an embellished Hartley skirt because it is a lot like Jason's style.I was able to get the navy dress with the red and pink trim, a navy polka dot bow blouse and the pleated floral skirt.  My daughter got the pink, yellow and black striped dress and a pink and cream polka dot blouse.  It was fun!  We did our shopping then ran to get my husband to go to church!  It felt weird that we did so much on a Sunday morning.  The day seems so long already!
Did you get any of the Jason Wu for Target collection?

Outfit today: kate spade City Lights skirt and J Crew cardigan with kate spade quinn

kate spade new york City Lights Lillith skirt and J Crew Jackie cardigan with Peacock  Quinn bag

Great Grammy's necklace!  I decided to just wear it instead of looking at it in the closet everyday!
Today I went to lunch at Lupe Tortillia with Madeline.  I planned an outfit with a theme today!  I am channeling a Breakfast at Tiffany's, New York look.  The Tiffany blue J Crew sweater, vintage rhinestone necklace and the kate spade new york City Lights skirt to tie it all together! Can you see the theme a little?  It didn't really fit with the Mexican restaurant but oh well, I wanted chips and salsa!
have a wonderful weekend!

J.C. Penny gets a bold new look from Target's ex-Chief Marketing Officer!

click here to visit the feb. jc penny mailer
I am excited for JC Penny and their new look (notice the striped skirt on page 18)! It is their 110 anniversary and they have pulled out all the stops to update their look.  Michael Francis, former Target CMO, came on board as president in October and had joined forces with Target's former agency to revamp the look of the classic brand.  If you look at the ad for February, you will see Target written all over it!  What is too bad from this development is that Target is left with no one to keep up that whimsical, fun look we all love so much.  I have actually noticed a difference at Target this month...It seems flat and boring.  I hope they find someone to bring the POP back to Target soon.  I am looking forward to seeing what JC Penny has planned for the months to come and am running out to shop there today!

**update- there was NOTHING at JC Penny's! Maybe the marketing hasn't caught up with the products yet! The striped skirt was cute but I have too many of those! lol!**

Outfit today: teal skirt from The Limited, Black Ann taylor boat neck top with a fun leopard scarf and my Peacock kate spade Quinn

I got this scarf this weekend at a Ladies Conference at church.  We had a boutique selling cute stuff!
Breakfast with my favorite Cow at Chic-fil-a!
Today was the first Breakfast Club Bible Study with my friends at Chic-fil-a. I decided to wear my new scarf which lead to me wearing a bunch of teal and leopard.  It is kind of a cliche outfit but I like the color and look for any chance to use my Peacock kate spade Quinn.  Hopefully the weather gets better and the rain stops so my hair will curl again.  It is grey again today(not my hair, the weather).

Have a great day!

What I wore yesterday: kate spade Sketchpad Elsye Dress with a mustard target cardi

kate spade sketchpad elsye dress

I love layering necklaces! The ball is Erickson Beamon from Target and the pearl chain is from Forever 21
Yesterday was a rainy Texas winter day so I picked some flowers to brighten up the gloomy weather. I added the mustard cardigan from Target because it was cheerful too!  I bought this cardigan in 5 colors and two of the red and pea green.  I just love them because they are really soft and are light enough for Texas.  The three quarter sleeve keeps me from getting too hot but adds a little bit of cozy to my outfit.  The shape of the kate spade Elsye dress is really not good for my body but it is very comfy and relaxed so I bought it anyway.  It is a great wear-around-the-house dress!
