What I wore: Kate spade Raquel dress and charm clutch lovely leopard target sandals

I love the charm magazine clutch!!!! I also love j crew cardigans like the yellow one o wore today with the Raquel eyelet dress. I also wore a lady marmalade ring and leopard sandals from target. I hope I can stay clean all day in white!

okay, this is totally who I want to be!

I am inspired by this dress!  The ugly tires are a nice touch! lol.

In the summer, my kate spade purchases seem to get fewer as Texas leaves little room for clothing in it's extreme heat.  The silk that most of these dresses are made of gets hard and crunchy when it drys after being sweaty.  This can really be a problem when it is 100 degrees outside and even more in the car.  I try to stick with loose cotton dresses all summer so I will probably be making some like these but in thin cotton.  Lucky all of you who live in cooler climates!  I may be able to pick up one or two of these at the end of the season to wear in the fall/winter.  Check out the really cute lookbook here!

What I wore: DIY kate spade Jillian dress

I went to vote today so I wore red white and blue.  This dress is my feeble attempt at the kate spade Jillian dress.  I ruined one of my Jillians by spilling bleach on it so I cut it up to see how to make the little waist detail.  I am so glad that I did because I would never have figured it out otherwise.  One dress bites the dust but paves the way for many many more to be made!!!

Now that I know how to do it, I am planning several more dresses. I have seen this style on many vintage dresses and even have a dress pattern that has this waist treatment.  Here are some of the adaptations i pinned on Pinterest of the Jillian style...they were actually first, I guess the Jillian is an adaptation of them!

New Charm Skirt on my Etsy shop

I have been a little lax on posting outfits because I have been designing another skirt for my Sandee Royalty Etsy shop .  It is a much needed design because it is less expensive and really comfortable! So far I have released it in 7 novelty fabrics for summer.  Robots,cherries,butterflies,cupcakes and more!

The Charm Skirt was designed to be collected just like charms on a charm bracelet! Each skirt is made from a fun and whimsical novelty print chosen to brighten your day when you put it on. The Charm skirt is also designed for comfort. Finally, you can be cute and comfy too! The simple waistband is a large band of elastic that can stretch to fit snugly at the waist or lower on the hips depending on preference. The full skirt is unlined 100% cotton fabric, giving it a lower price point of $40 and making it much lighter and cooler for summer days. It can also be special ordered with a light grey satin lining for an additional $7 for those who prefer not to wear a slip. It is still beautifully made with finished seams and a deep hem.  

The Charm Skirt is a really great skirt for those in the middle loosing weight or the first months for expectant mothers and perfect for after the baby too! Every closet needs some Charm!

Finally finished the photo wall with Kate spade art prints

I had an ugly photo wall in the guest room so I added some of the Kate spade year of color prints to it and I really love it! The prints add some color and interest to the family pictures. The rest of the room is white with yellow and white striped wall behind the bed so the photo/art wall really makes the room fresh and personal. Of course the guests are usually nana and mimi so they love the photos of the grandchildren on the wall!

Do you want to carry around an armadillo this summer?

I saw this little guy on katespade.com a few days ago and just had to post about him! Last summer I purchased the elephant basket bag from kate spade. He was the cutest! Now that I have seen the armadillo I really don't know what to think. I live in Texas where these are road kill. It is sad but you see them everywhere upside down on the side of the road. I think that if I could get that image out of my mind, I would really like this bag. He is darling for an armadillo! As with the elephant, the opening of the bag is small, and the wicker is delicate. This would only be a special occasion bag at best. Maybe even a single occasion bag! I found that with he elephant, it wouldn't stay hanging on my chair at a restaurant and I didn't want him on the floor. In a booth he took up too much room and was easily crunched. Crunching with wicker means breaking... I would suggest that If you really love him and want to adopt him for a pet, go for it! Otherwise, you should pass and get a fun summer tote!

Of all the new additions on Katespade.com today, the pillows are my favorite! They now have bath items like shower curtains and towels along with bedding items like pillows. No sheets and comforters yet as of today. I am thinking of getting the mr. & mrs. Pillows for my bed. I may just do a DIY on them and get the & sign from KSNY. My sewing machine does monogramming so I can write anything I want on a pillow for free! I just needed the inspiration from kate spade.

Sunday outfit: Kate spade Jillian dress

Today I wore my Jillian in the Baton Rouge floral silk. It is my absolute favorite print ever! I also took a pic with my sweet daughter Madeline in her pretty lace dress. She is precious! I am working on getting my bow Quinn out of hock by paying my husband what I owe him for it. I wish I could carry it!!! Don't you think it is just too cute!
