Wore a little floral dress yesterday

I visited the mall yesterday wearing a 50's inspired floral dress that I made using the Anne dress design. It needed a petticoat to get the 50's look otherwise it was just a floral dress. The length is really more 60's because I hemmed it to my knee.  That is my favorite length because I am so short. I also made a matching Opera coat that is reversible to match it. I didn't wear it shopping because it is too dressy when worn as a set. I used a vintage pattern that I ordered from etsy to make the coat. It is quite the statement...Not sure I want to speak that "loudly".  It was inspired by the loose fitting kate spade Micah coat but made it longer for a dressy look.  Mine reverses from a gingham to the floral of the dress.  It looked really cute with black pencil capris and a white top on the floral side.  In the pic it looks like a sack but in real life, it is much cuter.  I promise.  It makes me feel like Doris Day!

Wow. I'm so disappointed that Kate Spade is including an image of a woman smoking. I hadn't really looked closely at this graphic (but have seen it in the lookbook)until it was large, front and center on your web site.

I get that it's supposed to be retro, but come on Kate Spade. Don't promote smoking. YUCK!!!

I totally didn't see the smoke until you said something! Wow! I am so disappointed. I am really thinking I may not be a kate spade girl anymore. They aren't just about cute clothes, the corporate leadership has taken stands on issues and certain vices (partying, smoking, drinking etc.) that are so "not me". I may be shutting down my blog in the near future, I am doing some soul searching...
